Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 25: The state administration is giving final touch to security arrangements ahead of the annual Amarnath Yarta starting next month. Meanwhile, owing to bad weather conditions the decision to flag off the Yatra from June 7 has been put on hold.
According to sources the various security agencies operating in the valley were giving final touch to the security arrangements for the smooth conduct of Annual Amarnath Yatra beginning June 10.
A three tier security will be put in place with Army, BSF and paramilitary CRPF manning the areas en-route the Amarnath cave to ensure trouble free yatra.
The Army and BSF, they said will be deployed on higher reaches to keep any eye on the movement of militants and to thwart any attempt by them to disrupt the annual yatra. CRPF will be deployed on the roads leading to the Amrnath Cave and the base camps at Baltal and Pahalgham.
CRPF, Spokesman, Prabhakar Tripathi told Press Bureau of India that his force in coordination with the local police will ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims visiting the valley for the annual yatra. He said his men will be deployed on the roads leading to the Amarnath cave besides the two base camps at Baltal and Pahalgham.
“As the Yatris start pouring at Jammu we’ll escort them to the base camps at Baltal and Pahalgham. Besides, our men will also be deployed at all the roads leading to the Amarnath cave,” Tripathi said.
“Full prooF arrangements will be made to ensure peaceful and smooth conduct of the Yatra. We’ll also set up help centers and provide telecommunication service at base camps for the pilgrims,” he added.
However, Tripathi said that the force will continue with its anti-militancy operations in the state despite providing elaborate security to the Yatris visiting valley.
“There will be no compromise with the security of the Yatris. We’ll also continue anti-militancy operations in the valley,” PRO said.
Meanwhile, the annual two-month long Amarnath yatra is likely to be delayed from its scheduled time due to heavy snowfall en route cave shrine.

Shri Amarnath Shrine Board, SASB Chairman N N Vohra is yet to take a final decision over the actual beginning of the Yatra asfresh snowfall has been recorded along the Baltal and Pahalgam routes leading to the cave.
The yatra, which was scheduled to be flagged off from June 7 from Jammu, may get delayed until snow is cleared en route cave shrine. However, registration for the yatra, which started on May 20, in going on.
Sources told that the security personnel deployed along the route have not been able to reach their destinations because of bad weather condition
