Early Times Report
Jammu, Feb 8: ‘Satguru Sahib Ji of Sahib Bandgi, while giving the nectar of spiritual discourse to the congregation in Rakhbandhu, Jammu, said that without a Guru, a person’s heart cannot be purified. How does the Guru purify the heart? What is this heart? Sometimes we say, “Speak from the heart.” Sometimes we say, “Don’t take it to heart.” Why is there darkness there? There is profound darkness in the heart of the living being. Ignorance is born from darkness. In darkness, you don’t perceive objects. You can’t see anything. When there is light, you perceive objects. You may have seen that in complete darkness, you can’t even walk four steps. The living being has darkness in its heart. The Guru removes this darkness. Lord Rama’s Guru was Vashishtha. Why did Lord Rama need a Guru? Why did Vasudeva need a Guru? Kabir Sahib has come to this world in all four ages. At the beginning of the Treta Yuga, Sahib gave the Name to Vashishtha. Sahib also gave the Name to Rishi Durvasa. These great personalities did not take just anyone as their Guru. Sahib is also saying in his verses, “Who is greater than the Name and Krishna?” When even these great people adopted a Guru, where do ordinary people think they can go without a Guru? Let’s see what the heart is. This is not a lump of flesh. Our mind controls our brain. The mind resides in the Sushumna nadi. Scientists are saying something very interesting: the waves in the spinal cord travel throughout the body. They transmit commands. This means that the message travels in the form of waves. Suppose your relative lives across the ocean. When they talk to you, those waves come from somewhere in space. No one can hear those waves in between. They are decoded upon arrival. You hear the sound. This sound didn’t travel through space making any noise. If this sound traveled making noise, it would be impossible for humans to live. Those waves reach your brain, and the brain decodes them. The brain then sends messages to the hands and legs. |
