Ramban, Feb 8: Ramban Police, as part of its intensified drive against drug trafficking, achieved a significant success by arresting one person and recovering heroin-like contraband in the Sangaldan area.
On 07.02.2026, a police party from Police Post Sangaldan, while performing naka/checking duty at Tata Pani Road, Sangaldan, intercepted a vehicle (Eeco) bearing registration number JK19A-7926. During the checking, heroin-like contraband along with an electronic weighing machine was recovered from the possession of the driver.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Muzaffer Hussain S/o Farid Ahmed R/o Haila Dharam, Tehsil Gool, who was apprehended on the spot. The recovered contraband and other incriminating material were seized as per due legal procedure.
Accordingly, FIR No. 04/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gool, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the source and intended distribution network of the contraband.
Ramban Police reiterates its firm commitment to eradicate the menace of drugs from the district and appeals to the general public to cooperate with the police and share any information related to drug trafficking for the safety and well-being of society. |
