early times report

JAMMU, Feb 10: Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a key enabler of India’s development journey, strengthening governance and improving public service delivery. It supports inclusive growth at scale and aligns with the vision of Viksit Bharat by 2047. India’s linguistic and cultural diversity uniquely positions it to advance multi-lingual and multi-modal AI systems tailored to diverse public needs.
The India–AI Impact Summit 2026, to be held from 16–20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, will be the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South. It will convene global leaders, policymakers, industry, and experts to showcase and deliberate on AI’s transformative potential for governance, innovation, and sustainable development.
Building on outcomes from major international AI forums, the summit will focus on translating global AI discussions into tangible development outcomes aligned with the IndiaAI Mission and the Digital India Initiative, while strengthening multilateral cooperation and advancing people-centric AI frameworks.
Recognising the strategic importance of AI, the Government of India has prioritised building a robust and inclusive AI ecosystem through initiatives such as the IndiaAI Mission, AI compute infrastructure, indigenous AI models, and large-scale capacity building to enable responsible AI adoption.
