JAMMU, Feb 10: The Jammu Forest Range team successfully intercepted a truck bearing registration JK02AL-2955, which was transporting illicit khairwood billets without the requisite permits. This operation was executed following intelligence received regarding illegal timber activities.
The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Anurag Arya, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer Jammu, and spearheaded by Kailash Choudhary, Range Forest Officer Jammu. Block Officer Nagrota-I, Rakeshwar Singh, along with other forest officials from the Nagrota-I block, were instrumental in the interception of truck JK02AL-2955, which was subsequently found to be loaded with illegal khairwood. Legal proceedings under the Indian Forest Act have been initiated. |
