| MLA Arvind Gupta starts deep drain work at Upper Krishna Nagar | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: In a major step towards improving civic infrastructure, MLA Jammu West Arvind Gupta today inaugurated the long-pending deep drain construction work at Upper Krishna Nagar, Ward 12. The project, estimated to cost Rs 10 lakh, is being executed from the Constituency Development Fund (CDF) and aims to address the persistent problem of waterlogging faced by local residents. The inauguration ceremony was attended by district team members, the Mandal President along with party workers, officials of the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), and local residents who welcomed the initiative. The residents expressed satisfaction that their long-standing demand for proper drainage infrastructure had finally been taken up for execution. Speaking on the occasion, Arvind Gupta said, "Development at the grassroots level remains our top priority. The construction of this deep drain will provide permanent relief to the residents of Upper Krishna Nagar who have been facing serious drainage and sanitation issues for many years. We are committed to ensuring that every genuine public demand is addressed in a time-bound manner." He further directed the executing agencies and JMC officials to ensure high-quality construction and timely completion of the project so that the benefits reach the people without delay. Gupta also interacted with local residents and assured them that additional development works for improving roads, sanitation, and civic amenities in the area would be taken up in a phased manner. District and Mandal team members appreciated the MLA's continuous efforts in strengthening infrastructure in Jammu West and highlighted that several developmental works have been initiated under his leadership in recent months. JMC officers present at the site assured full technical support and proper monitoring to ensure smooth execution of the drainage project. Local residents expressed gratitude to the MLA for fulfilling their long-pending demand and hoped that the new drainage system would significantly improve sanitation conditions in the locality. |
