Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 10: Passenger facilities are being continuously expanded in the Jammu Division of Northern Railway. Recently, from February 11, special train number 04688/04687, which used to run from Budgam to Banihal, was extended to Shri Mata Vaishnodevi Katra instead of Banihal to provide better facilities to local residents and tourists visiting Kashmir. In a major addition to the tourist attractions of the Kashmir Valley, the Jammu Division has added a Vistadome coach to the special train, allowing passengers to enjoy a comfortable journey in the special coach with a glass roof and large windows. Speaking about the features of Vistadome coaches, they feature wide glass windows and a roof, allowing passengers visiting Kashmir to enjoy a 360-degree view of the natural scenery outside the train, including mountains, rivers, and tunnels. These coaches are currently operating in other tourist destinations, such as the Konkan Railway and Darjeeling, instead of Kashmir. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Uchit Singhal, explained the special amenities offered to passengers, saying, "This will promote tourism, and Vistadome coaches will make their journey comfortable and memorable. This is a pioneering passenger amenity, offering a view of the sky from the glass roof and a view of the natural beauty through the large windows, making the journey exciting." |
