| Bypassing govt order, 19 un-authorized schools still running in | | | Rajouri, July 15 : Notwithstanding government direction to close
down the un-authorized educational institutions, more than 20 such
schools were still operating in Rajouri educational zone.
Government in its order passed in March this year had directed the
Chief Education Officer Rajouri to close down 54 un-authorized
schools but it seems that the concerned authorities are by-passing
the government orders for the benefit of some vested interests.
"Almost all such schools are continuously running in the district and
these Educational shops are allegedly being run in connivance with
the concerned authorities of education department", sources in
education department disclosed to News Agency of Kashmir.
Atleast 19 Schools are running in the educational zone Rajouri, which
are un-unauthorised sources said disclosing the names of these
schools as Iqra Academy, Dassal Gujjran , Dawn Public School Rehtal,
National Institute Of Education Khewra, Indian National Academy
Danidhar, Talab-ul- aloom Gurdhan Bala, Modern Educational Trust
Gurdhan Bala, Bright Carrier Modern Institute of Education Atti, S K
Modern Institute Of Education Chapprian, Golden Public School
Fatehpur, Unique Public School Ward no Bela Rajouri, Moden Diamond
Public School Thudi, Sher-i-Kashmir Modern Public School Thudi,
International Public School Dani Dhar, St Joseph's Convent School
Rajouri, Little Flowers Pooja Rajouri, Niwaz Public School Mera,
English Medium Public School Ward no 2 Bela Rajouri , M I E Rehtal
and Model Public School Nagrota.
As per the Chief Education Officer's letter written to Zonal
Education Officer Rajouri vide no CEOR\PVT\E-1\21303-05 Dated
27-02-06, the Chief Education Officer has himself admitted that 19
Private Schools are running illegally in education zone Rajouri. In
view of these observations, he had passed the directions for the
closure of such Schools.
However, the continuation of this shady business clearly indicates
the criminal and corrupt nexus of education authorities with the
administration of these unauthorised institutions.
Sources said some of such blacklisted schools were permitted only up
to 1st and 2nd primary classes but instead they have been running 8th
and 9th classes and this became possible due to the criminal silence
of the concerned education authorities.
Moreover bearing few, almost all these schools are lacking the
required infrastructure of any educational institution. An
investigation conducted by this correspondent revealed that none of
these schools have some feet space for the sports facilities. Not
only were the sports facilities, even majority of them running the
High Schools from the shops along the road sides. Reacting over the
legal status of these Schools, scholars of the area have expressed
their surprise over the permissions given to these Schools with out
checking the required infrastructure for running a school.
