Early Times Report

Akhnoor, Feb 11: Senior BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member Pandit Suresh Sharma convened a comprehensive review meeting with senior officials of the Jal Shakti Department to assess the progress of ongoing water supply projects in Block Maira Mandrian and Chowki Choura.
The meeting focused on works being executed under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), NRDWP, and UT Capex schemes. During the review, Sharma was informed that nearly 80 percent of the new water supply projects have been completed. He directed the concerned officers to expedite the remaining works and ensure their completion within a fixed timeframe so that the public receives uninterrupted and adequate drinking water supply.
Expressing concern over delays in repairing damaged motor pumps, Sharma highlighted that repairs are currently taking two to three weeks, causing inconvenience to residents. He instructed the department to treat such issues on priority and ensure that faulty motor pumps are repaired within four to five days to prevent disruption in water supply.
Sharma emphasized that timely completion of projects and prompt grievance redressal are essential to maintaining public trust and improving service delivery.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Sunil Sharma, Assistant Executive Engineers Rajeev Kumar and Vishal Khajuria, Assistant Engineer Neeraj Kumar, along with other departmental engineers.
