| ADDA discusses key issues, future strategy and organisational roadmap | | | Early Times Report AKHNOOR, Feb 11: The Akhnoor District Demand Association (ADDA) today held an important internal discussion meeting to review the progress of the movement for creation of Akhnoor as a separate district and to chalk out the roadmap for future programmes. During the meeting, the Association deliberated upon the core issues affecting the Akhnoor region, including administrative overload under District Jammu, lack of district-level offices, delay in public service delivery, challenges faced by border and hilly areas, disaster vulnerability due to the Chenab River, and the need for decentralized governance to ensure equitable development. The members unanimously reiterated that Akhnoor fulfills all administrative, geographical, population, historical and infrastructural parameters required for district status and that the demand is based purely on facts, data and public interest. Future Programmes & Strategy The Association resolved to proceed in a phased, democratic and lawful manner, which will include: Filing of RTIs across multiple government departments to collect official data Meetings with Panchayat, BDC and DDC representatives for grass-root resolutions Interaction with subject experts, retired officials and civil society members Press briefings and public awareness programmes Submission of a comprehensive memorandum to the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, J&K |
