| Padam Shri Sudha Murty inspects SMVDIME Kakryal Katra | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT

Padam Shri Sudha Murty, Board Member, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board has visited the Institute of Medical Excellence, being constructed by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, at Kakryal, Katra for upliftment of Medical and Health Care facilities for the poor and needy people living in far flung areas of the State.
During her visit she was accompanied by Manoj Kumar Dwivedi, IAS, and Addl. CEO SMVDSB. The Director, SMVDIME, Lt. Gen (Retd.) L P Sadhotra briefed the Board Member about various aspects of the Project and construction activities going on at the Project site for the construction of 200 bedded Cancer Hospital in its first phase which is likely to be completed by December 2009.
Initially the primary catchments area of the Institute will be Reasi, Samba, Udhampur, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua Doda, Ramban, Kishtwar, Jammu the secondary catchments area will include entire Kashmir valley, Ladakh, parts of Punjab and Himachal Pardesh. Institute will also cater to the Emergency medical aid to the pilgrims thronging from all parts of the country to the holy shrine, the participants apprised.
She admired the concept of the Institute and desired that Psycho Social Oncology be added in first phase of the Institute. She further offered all possible help to the noble cause undertaken by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board.
Among other present on the occasion were Prof. N K Bansal, Vice Chancellor, SMVDUniversity and other Officers of the SMVDIME.
