Early Times Report AMRITSAR, Feb 11: The Two-Day National Seminar on the theme "Punjab 2047: Forging the Future through Entrepreneurship and Innovation" organized with a dignified and visionary inaugural session that set the tone for meaningful academic deliberations. The seminar focuses on how entrepreneurship, innovation, and knowledge-driven development can shape a sustainable, inclusive, and progressive future for Punjab by 2047. Eminent academicians, policymakers, researchers, and scholars gathered to contribute to this forward-looking dialogue. The inaugural proceedings opened with a serene Shabad Gayan, creating a spiritually uplifting environment. A documentary depicting the historical evolution of Punjab was screened, highlighting the state's rich cultural heritage, socio-economic transformations, resilience, and emerging aspirations. The film effectively connected Punjab's glorious past with its innovation oriented future, reinforcing the broader vision of the seminar. The ceremony included a floral welcome of the dignitaries and the traditional lamp lighting, symbolizing enlightenment through knowledge and learning. Delivering the Welcome Address, the Vice Chancellor, Dr. Karamjeet Singh, emphasized that the vision of Punjab 2047 requires a shift toward innovation-led growth, entrepreneurial ecosystems, and stronger academia-industry linkages. Drawing inspiration from the teachings of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, he highlighted the four guiding pillars-Kirat Karo (honest labor), Naam Japo (remembrance of the Divine), Vand Chhako (sharing with others), and the spirit of Chardi Kala (eternal optimism). Dr. Singh emphasized that these principles continue to guide society towards unity, self-reliance, and sustainable progress, helping Punjab move forward with renewed confidence. In the Presidential Address, Dr. Alok Chakrawal, began his address with "New Beginnings", highlighting that for Punjab to achieve the vision of Viksat Punjab, every student must embrace entrepreneurship, becoming job creators rather than job seekers. He stated that when the youth innovate, start enterprises, and contribute actively to the economy, Punjab can realize its full potential and become truly developed by 2037. He further added that fostering a culture of innovation, skill development, and ethical business practices is key to empowering young minds. Dr. Mamta Rani, Chief Guest of the seminar "Punjab 2047: Forging the Future through Entrepreneurship and Innovation," stated that the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 must begin with strong and progressive states, and Punjab 2047 has a crucial role to play in this national journey.
