Handicapped Association calls on CM

Srinagar, May 26- A deputation of All J&K Handicapped, Widows and Old Aged Persons Association called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here today and presented a memorandum of demands seeking welfare for these special categories of people.
The demands included increase in reservation quota from 3 to 6 per cent, interest-free loans to these categories for economic activities and rehabilitation, free education for their children, allotment of land and houses, special schools and concession in fares to these categories.
After giving a patient hearing to the deputation, the Chief Minister said their demands would be referred to the concerned departments for sympathetic consideration.
MLA, Amirakadal, Nasir Sogami and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Khurshid Ahmad Ganai was also present on the occasion.
