Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 13: The Financial Literacy Awareness Programme was successfully organised at Government Degree College Kakryal Katra in collaboration with its National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit and the Reserve Bank of India, Jammu. The programme was organised under the able guidance of the worthy principal of the college, Dr. Rajni Bhagat. The programme aimed to enhance financial awareness among students and equip them with essential knowledge for informed financial decision-making. The programme commenced with a formal welcome address by Dr. Sajad Iqbal, Head Department of Environmental Science. The keynote session was conducted by Ms. Amandeep Kour, Senior Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Jammu, who highlighted the importance of financial literacy in today's rapidly evolving economic environment. The speakers emphasized prudent financial planning, savings habits, and responsible use of banking services. The key topics covered during the programme included the importance of saving and budgeting, banking facilities and digital payment systems, basic concepts of interest, inflation, and loans, financial inclusion initiatives, and consumer rights and protection against financial frauds. Special focus was laid on digital financial awareness, safe online transactions, and cyber security measures to prevent fraud. |
