Early Times Report CHANDIGARH, Feb 13: The Postgraduate Department of Economics at Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women organised an Awareness Programme on 'Budget 2026: Analysis and Insights' to enhance students' understanding of the Union Budget and its economic implications. The resource person, Dr. Smita Sharma, Chairperson, Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh, delivered an engaging and insightful lecture on the Union Budget 2026. She analysed the key highlights of the budget and discussed its implications across critical sectors, including taxation, infrastructure development, and social welfare. Her comprehensive presentation helped participants appreciate the broader economic vision and policy priorities reflected in the budget. The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 150 attendees and featured a lively question-and-answer round, enabling students and faculty to gain deeper insights into the budget's potential impact on the national economy.
