GNDU Sets Up 10 High-Power Committees for Historic AI-Punjabi Conference

AMRITSAR, Feb 13: Guru Nanak Dev University has constituted 10 high-power committees to ensure the smooth and systematic organisation of a three-day World Punjabi Conference on the theme "Role of Artificial Intelligence in the Field of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat".
The first meeting of these committees in the committee room of Vice Chancellor office was addressed by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Karamjeet Singh, who described the conference as a historic step for Punjab, Punjabi language and Punjabiyat. He said the event would provide a new direction to Punjabi language, literature and culture in the era of artificial intelligence, strengthening Punjabi's presence at the global level.
Dr Karamjeet Singh appealed to all committee members to work with full dedication day and night to make the conference a success. He added that over the three days, world-renowned scholars would share their insights, leading to the formulation of a practical roadmap. This roadmap would serve as the basis for future policies and programmes aimed at the development of Punjabi language and identity.
Prof Manjinder Singh, Head of the School of Punjabi Studies, will serve as the convener of the conference.
The 10 high-power committees formed include: Organising Committee, Felicitation and Publication Committee, Refreshment Committee, Hospitality Committee, Vendor and Purchase Committee, Finance and Purchase Committee, IT Committee, Vehicle and Transportation Committee, Venue Management and Seating Arrangement Committee, and the Reception, Stage, Lights, Sound and Stationery Committee, along with the Press and Media Committee.
All committees have received approval from the Vice-Chancellor, and a high-level meeting of the committees has already been held, during which programmes scheduled for February 20, 21 and 22 were reviewed.
Dr Karamjeet Singh that several prominent international personalities would participate, and five eminent scholars would be honoured with special recognitions.
During the three days, experts will engage in in-depth discussions on the role of artificial intelligence in the context of Punjabi language, Punjab and Punjabiyat. The primary objective is to prepare an effective roadmap for the development, promotion and propagation of Punjabi language and culture, not at national but international level, for future generations, enabling its practical implementation in the years ahead.
