| Five forest official, one policeman injured in Kashmir attack | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, May 27 Security forces fired in the air after five forest officials and a police jawan were injured when they were attacked by villagers, who had illegally occupied forest land in south Kashmir district of Shopian. Sources said here today that a team of forest officials assisted by Forest Protection Force (FPF) and police went to Dachnoo Herpora to remove the illegal occupation of vast area of forest land by villagers. However, when the team reached there, villagers attacked them with lathis and stones, they said adding later the officials fired in the air in self defence to chase away the forest land grabbers. They said after cutting trees, the villagers had cultivated vegetables and erected some structures on the land. The forest officials removed the barbed wire, illegal structures and vegetables, sources said adding a case has been registered against those who had occupied the forest land. Five forest officials and a police jawan were injured in the attack, sources said
