GDC Nagrota conducts awareness programme on "Financial Literacy"

NAGROTA, Feb 16: The Career Counselling Cell of Government Degree College, Nagrota organised an Awareness Programme on Financial Literacy on February 16, 2026 under the patronship of the Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Anjali Mahajan. The objective of the programme was to promote financial awareness and responsible financial practices among students. The event commenced with a warm welcome address to the distinguished guest Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Gupta and the resource person Prof. Pawan Kumar Gupta. The keynote session was delivered by Prof. Pawan Kumar Gupta. In his comprehensive address, he elaborated on the significance of financial planning, savings, investment awareness, digital banking, and prudent financial decision-making in today's rapidly evolving economic landscape. He encouraged students to cultivate disciplined financial habits at an early stage to secure a stable and independent future. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Anjali Mahajan also addressed the gathering, underscoring the significance of financial literacy as an essential life skill for students. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Javaid Iqbal, Staff Secretary. The event was successfully organised by Dr. Vandana Ghai, Dr. Mussarat Choudhary and Prof. Samina Khan. Faculty members and students attended the programme with full enthusiasm, contributing to its overall success.
