The initiative was implemented by Live For Others - Being Helpful Foundation (LFO-BHF) as part of its continued outreach across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, with the objective of promoting equality, dignity, mutual respect, and personal safety among students. The awareness sessions under Project RISE were conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Wanpoh; Government Higher Secondary School, Arwani; Government Higher Secondary School, Hamdan; and Government Higher Secondary School, Kokernag. The sessions were facilitated by resource person Mr. Abhishek Raina, who actively engaged students in discussions on gender sensitivity, respectful conduct, inclusivity, and responsible social behaviour. A key highlight of the programme was the self-defence awareness component, where students were introduced to basic practical techniques aimed at enhancing personal safety, building confidence, and enabling them to respond effectively in challenging situations. Through this initiative, a total of 732 students were sensitised across the participating educational institutions in Anantnag district. Speaking on the occasion, the resource person emphasized that the programme seeks to empower young minds by combining awareness with practical skills, helping them understand the importance of equality and mutual respect while equipping them with essential self-protection tools. |
