NSS Unit of GDC Khour organizes cleanliness drive in adopted pond at Village Naryana

KHOUR, Feb 18: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of Government Degree College Khour has demonstrated its commitment to cleanliness & community services by organizing a dedicated cleanliness drive in adopted pond (water body) at village Dhangri, Naryana on the third day of the ongoing seven Days NSS Special Winter Camp. The drive was conducted under the able leadership of Prof. (Dr) T. K. Sharma, Principal and under the supervision of Prof. Himanshu Khajuria, NSS Programme Officer. About 30 NSS volunteers of the College participated in the cleanliness drive of the pond with the aim to revamp and conserve the natural water source to prevent its slow deterioration due to pollution. The revamping work include removal of filth, weeds, piled up plastic waste from the pond to ensure its cleanliness as it serves as drinking water for various animals like cows, horses, sheep etc of the local area. The principal of the College appreciated the efforts and dedication of NSS volunteers. Dr. Anil Kumar Dogra, Prof. Sunil Kumar (PTI) & Dr. Ranjan Sharma also participated in the cleanliness drive.
