| For road, railway accident victims | | New India Assurance launches Insurance rescue drive | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 27: Keeping in view the rising number of road accidents in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, New India Assurance company a government of India, undertaking today launched an insurance rescue drive for road accidents victims. As per company handout, Dr. Daleep Pandita senior officer of the company said that this low cost welfare scheme cover death and disability arising from road or railway accidents, without any medical examination after paying Rs 50 as annual charges for sum of rupees one lakh and is without any service tax. Pandita further said that claim under this policy will be settled immediately on the basis of postmortem report of the deceased to any office functioning in the state. He said the scheme is launched to reduce the miseries of the dependents arising out of such accidents. He said even media can go long way in promoting and percolating down the benefits of such novel scheme for the people in distress. Dr. Pandita, who is a traffic warden for Chandigarh traffic police and a worst suffer of the road accident, said that he shall also make efforts with State Traffic enforcing authorities to implement this scheme particularly during the challenging of traffic violators, in order to mitigate among them the sense of rescue for accident victims.
