Sabma, Feb 20: SPPND Government Degree College, Samba celebrated International Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm under the guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. Nirlape Kour. The programme was organized by the Department of Political Science, headed by HoD Ritika, in collaboration with the Department of Dogri under the leadership of Dr. Joginder Singh. The event began with a welcome address by Assistant Professor Ritika, who highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting mother languages. Students from both departments actively participated in the celebration. Rhythm and Ritika spoke about the historical significance of languages. Poems were recited by Sonia, Preeti, Prerna, and Lakshmi, while melodious song were presented by Mannat and Manvi. The programme was anchored by Ankita Sambyal and Lakshmi. The vote of thanks was delivered by Divyanshi Mahajan. On the occasion, Principal Prof. Dr. Nirlape Kour addressed the gathering and emphasized that language is not a barrier but a bridge that connects hearts, cultures, and communities. She encouraged students to take pride in their mother tongue while also respecting other languages. The event successfully highlighted the importance of linguistic diversity, unity, and cultural heritage. |
