| Animal Husbandry Department organizes awareness camp at Chatta, Sunjwan | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 20: Under the directions of Dr. Sanjay Gupta, Director, Animal Husbandry Department, Jammu, and Dr. Zahid Saleem, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, Jammu, the Animal Husbandry Department Jammu today organized an awareness camp at village Chatta, Sunjwan, Jammu. The programme was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Zaffar Iqbal, Livestock Development Officer, Jammu. The awareness camp witnessed active participation from a large number of farmers and livestock rearers of the area. The main objective of the camp was to educate the farmers about various beneficiary-oriented schemes and programmes being implemented by the department for the welfare and upliftment of the farming community. During the programme, the experts Dr. Anjal Kumar, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS), and Dr. Anjan Kour, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS), delivered detailed lectures and interacted with the farmers. They briefed them about various ongoing Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) and Integrated Dairy Development Scheme (IDDS). The experts highlighted the importance of these schemes in enhancing milk production, improving livestock health, strengthening dairy infrastructure, and generating sustainable livelihood opportunities for farmers. They also informed the farmers about eligibility criteria, registration procedures, financial assistance, and other benefits available under different schemes of the department. The officers emphasized that the Animal Husbandry Department is committed to strengthening the livestock sector and improving the socio-economic condition of farmers through effective implementation of various government programmes. The farmers appreciated the initiative taken by the Animal Husbandry Department Jammu and thanked the department for organizing the awareness camp in their area. They expressed keen interest in availing the benefits under various departmental schemes and requested the department to organize more such camps in the future. |
