| PDP to brain storm poll debacle on June 11 | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 27: PDP patron Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and party Chief Mehbooba Mufti seems to have gone into self imposed hibernation after tasting defeat on all the three Lok Sabha seats in the Kashmir valley. Ironically, all those senior PDP leaders who were active in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls have suddenly vanished from the political scene to do some kind of self introspection. During the campaign trail the PDP leaders were expecting to win at least one Lok Sabha seat of Anantnag and had campaigned aggressively on two other Lok Sabha seats but failed to salvage their party’s pride. National Conference won all three Lok Sabha seats from Kashmir valley defeating rival candidates of PDP. After winning 22 Assembly seats during 2008 Assembly polls, PDP were aiming to retain its vote bank and further improve its presence in the Kashmir valley to unnerve National Conference but it appears that PDP stands exposed in the eyes of the electorate and they have rejected their secessionist agenda with full force. Since election results were declared we have not heard much about the PDP top brass, party workers regularly visiting party’s zonal office said here in Jammu. Make an attempt to know about the whereabouts of PDP leaders from party workers and the spontaneous reply would be,” "we do not know what our leaders are doing and what lies in store for us”. The party workers said the party chief Mehbooba Mufti had called a meeting of the Central Executive of the Party on Thursday, June 11 at the Party Headquarters for a detailed review of organizational matters and the political situation in the state. According to PDP spokesman, during the meeting, an action plan would be finalized to carry forward the agenda of the party, raise important issues of public interest and channelize public opinion for peaceful resolution of issues.
