| Bhatti urges govt to provide adequate water supply | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, May 28: President, National Sikh Front and National Conference leader S. Kulwant Singh Bhatti today appealed the coalition govt. to provide adequate water supply in the Jammu region as the summer season has already started and the mercury is crossing all its previous records.
In a meeting held here Bhatti after visiting various localities of Gandhi nagar constituency said that most of the localities are having short age of water supply and is being supplied only one time in 24 hours. He said that it is very unfortunate on the part of P.H.E department that even after the direction of chief minister to provide adequate water supply the department filed to comply the directions of CM.
Bhatti said that there are certain water supply pumps and storage system which were installed and constructed for back in early fifties and the department is managing the supply with outdated machineries even the employees of the department do not even pay heed to clean the water storage and never use bleaching powder and other hygienic technique for the cleanliness purpose he said that this might result into epidemic.
