GDC Thathri organises painting competition on road Safety Awareness

JAMMU, Feb 27: Today on 27-02-2026, the Literary Committee of GDC Thathri in collaboration with the college NSS unit organised a vibrant painting competition on the eve of Road Safety Awareness. The purpose of the event was to create awareness among the masses especially youth about traffic rules and regulations. The whole event was organised under the overall supervision and patronage of the college Principal Dr M S Saini. Dr Saini during his inaugural speech emphasised the need to aware the people about certain road safety measures to be followed by everyone with full responsibility and sincerity. Dr Saini also advocated the fact that road safety is a prerequisite measure to assess the development of a nation. The college principal appreciated the skills of the students in portraying the DOs and DONTs of traffic signals and the significance of the road safety awareness. In the event, more than 30 students participated and expressed their skills through colours. The judging panel consisted of Dr Sanjay Kumar, HoD Urdu; Prof Arshad Ayoub, HoD Political Science and Prof Puja Devi, HoD Hindi. The HoDs from all the departments graced the occasion. The whole event was managed by Prof Deepak Raj, Convenor College Literary Committee. In the end, the formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr Sanjay Kumar, Nodal Officer College NSS unit who appreciated the efforts of each and everyone associated for making this event a grand success.
