| Janipur police recover stolen gold worth Rs 11 lacs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Feb 28: On dated _22/02/2026, a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Janipur by the complainant namely Sandeep Jamwal S/O Kuldeep Singh R/O Janipur Colony, stating that approximately 9 tolas of gold ornaments were stolen from his/her residential house by unknown person(s). Upon receipt of the complaint, FIR No. 28/2026 under relevant sections of law was registered at P/S Janipur and investigation was entrusted to PSI Vivek Daliya. On the directions of SDPO West Dr. Satish Bhardwaj,JKPS, a special team was constituted comprising SHO Janipur,Inspector Vikram Sharma and PSI Vivek Daliya. The team worked under the close supervision of SDPO West and SP City North. During the course of investigation, the team used scientific aids, technical surveillance, analysis of dump data and other modern investigative techniques. With sustained efforts and professional investigation, the accused namely Muskhan Nayyar w/o Rahul Mehra R/O Janipur colony was identified and arrested. During interrogation, the accused confessed to the commission of crime and on her disclosure, the stolen gold ornaments were recovered. Further investigation is in progress. Janipur police has shown extraordinary professionalism in solving the theft crimes from the last one and half year. Public is hereby informed to install CCTVs and use locker facility of banks to keep their valuables and keep minimum money in their saving accounts. |
