Impressive valedictory function organised at SKPA Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Feb 28: An impressive valedictory function was organized at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy Udhampur to mark the occasion of conclusion of essential course on "Women Safety". Deputy Director SKPAU, SSP Benam Tosh presided over the valediction ceremony, addressed the participants and distributed course certificates.
A total of 24 police officers from various districts & wings of J&K upto the rank of Inspector including twelve female officers participated in the five-day training programme which was sponsored by Bureau of Police Research & Development, New Delhi with the objective to train the police officers to ensure safety of women in their areas of responsibility by sternly dealing with crime against women.
The sessions were conducted by member Juvenile Justice Board Jammu Dr Sheetal Manhas, Deputy SP Finger Prints Bureau Crime Branch J&K Jammu Jagpal Sharma, Media Analyst & former UNICEF Child Protection Consultant Beenish Qureshi, Senior Prosecuting Officers Riaj Ahmed & Amit Parkash Seghal, Advocate High Court Supriya Chouhan, Senior officer of Cyber Police Station Jammu Vikas Dogra and highly professional officers of SKPA faculty including Mahmood Ahmed & Kuldeep Krishan.
In his valedictory address, SSP advised the officers to diagnose the cases of Crime against women personally, work out matters and register FIRs properly in consultation with Prosecuting Officers and take stern legal action including arrests of the accused without inordinate delay. However, the innocents should not be harassed and actual accused should not be spared, he said.
