| Rajouri, July 15 : Notwithstanding government direction to close | | | Jammu, July 15 : Holding "week-kneed policies of Congress led
coalition government" responsible for the sudden spurt of violence
across the country, Bharatiya Janta Party has urged the President Dr
APJ Abdul Kalam to take cognizance of the fast deteriorating security
scenario in the country and take all necessary measures preventing
the Congress and its allies from converting India into a soft state.
In a memorandum submitted to the President through Divisional
Commission Jammu the party claimed that the nation is passing through
critical times as far as its security and integrity is concerned.
"This is the immediate fall-out of the weak-kneed policies of the
Congress-led UPA government at the centre has led to the situation
where Pakistan-sponsored militants and ISI has brought the entire
country within their deadly tentacles".
This recent attacks in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Ayodhya and Banaras
has made it clear that the militant activities are not limited to the
state of Jammu and Kashmir, the memorandum reads adding, "The
situation, in fact, has assumed all the more dangerous proportions
when we consider the July 12 Washington DC statement of Pakistan
Foreign Minister Kasuri to the effect that violence would continue to
dot the Indian political scene till the time the Kashmir dispute is
not resolved to the satisfaction of Pakistan". I
The memorandum further reads that it is true that Prime Minister Dr.
Manmohan Singh yesterday asked Pakistan to end cross-border terrorism
and implement in letter and spirit the January 6, 2004, joint
declaration that binds Pakistan not to allow terrorists to use
territories under its control for abetting and exporting terrorism.
It is also true that the Prime Minister has indicated his intentions
to end the ongoing composite dialogue between the two countries but
this is just not enough".
The BJP was of the view that the Prime Minister has reluctantly taken
this line considering the national mood that wants the government to
act against Pakistan and the
Militants modules operating in different parts of the country.
The abolition of POT A by the UP A government immediately after its
installation in May 2004, saying that it was manifestation of its
secular thinking, is an ample proof that for the parties like the
Congress the national interests are subservient to the vote politics,
it added.
The party requested the President to take cognizance of the fast
deteriorating security scenario in the country and take all necessary
measures "preventing the Congress and it's collaborators from
converting India into a soft state". |
