Khajuria chairs committee on Petitions

Srinagar, May 28- To mitigate the problems and grievances of the general masses and to provide timely succor to the people, the Committee on Petitions met at J&K Legislative Assembly Lobby under the Chairmanship of Ashok Khajuria, today.
The Chairman stressed upon the Members of the Committee to make the functioning of the committee more effective. He asked for publicizing the working of the committee through print and electronic media so that the common people become aware about the functioning of the committee. Khajuria said that by giving wide publicity to the deliberations of the committee, people would come to know about the forum working at the Legislative level for redressing grievances of the general masses.
The meeting was attended by legislators S. Rafiq Hussain Khan, Kafeel-ur-Rehman, Ch. Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Balwant Singh Mankotia, Jugal Kishore, Abdul Razak Wagay, Sukhnandan Kumar and senior officers of the J&K Legislative Assembly.
It was decided in the meeting that the committee will convene its next meeting on June 10, 2009.
