| Maj Gen Sinha completes 2 day visit to J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, May 28- Major General Ashok Sinha, Additional Director General National Cadet Corps, visited National Cadet Corps Directorate Jammu and Kashmir and the units of Jammu Group on May 27 and 28. An alumina of Sainik School, Tilayya, National Defence Academy, Khadakvasla, and Defence Service Staff College Wellington, the General was commissioned in the Corps of Engineers in 1972. During his distinguished service of 36 years, he has held many prestigious command and staff appointments including in J&K. The General officer was briefed of the NCC activities in the State by Brigadier Anil Gupta, Deputy Director General. He was also apprised of the constraint in conduct of NCC activities due to the peculiar geographic profile, security environment and the schooling system in the three regions of the state. Major General Sinha visited NCC Camping Ground at Nagrota today to inspect the infrastructure developed for efficient conduct of camps. He inaugurated newly constructed computer cum information room. The room has been established to increase general awareness of the cadets and to make them proficient in the handling of computers. The General Officer was full of praise for the government of J&K for having created such a wonderful infrastructure for conduct of NCC camps. He was also pleased to interact with enthusiastic cadets. The General lauded the effort made by Brigadier Gupta and his team of officers in revitalizing the NCC activities, launching a vigorous drive for enrolment of maximum number of eligible state cadets and reaching out the remote areas in the state.
