GDC Bhaderwah celebrated Women's International Day

BHADERWAH, Mar 9: The Women Development Cell of Government Degree College Bhaderwah successfully organized an Essay Writing Competition today to commemorate International Women's Day, celebrated globally on 8 March every year.
The programme was held under the patronage of the Principal, Professor Mohd Farooq Mirza, who appreciated the initiative taken by the Women Development Cell to organize such meaningful academic activities for the students.
The theme of the competition was "Empowered Women Empower the World: Give Strength, Gain Progress." The event aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of women's empowerment and its vital role in the progress and development of society.
A total of 23 students from different departments of the college enthusiastically participated in the competition. The participants expressed their thoughtful ideas and perspectives through their essays, highlighting various aspects of women's empowerment, gender equality, and the contributions of women in different spheres of life.
On the occasion, Dr Ajaz Wani head dept .of zoolgy and IQAC coordinator delivered an insightful address in which he emphasized the importance of empowering women through education, equal opportunities, and social awareness. He encouraged students to actively contribute towards building a society based on equality and mutual respect.
The programme was organized under the guidance of Dr Rajni Kumari, Convener of the Women Development Cell, who motivated students to take part in such activities that promote awareness and critical thinking on important social issues.
The event was efficiently coordinated by the organizing team comprising Dr Neelam Saba, Dr Renuka Goria, Dr Deepika Devi, Prof Aarti Devi, and Dr Ambish Malik. The organizing committee appreciated the enthusiasm and active participation of the students.Manisha Devi
