Viksit Bharat 2047
3/10/2026 10:29:02 PM
India is moving rapidly towards the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, and linking the country’s education sector with the real-world economy will play a decisive role in turning this aspiration into reality.
The educational institutions have shifted their focus on subjects like artificial intelligence, automation and other technology-based courses to equip India’s generation next with best possible tools.
While addressing an event recently Prime Minister Modi reiterated that fulfilling aspirations of the people is the resolve of his government and education, skill development, health, tourism, sports and culture are some of the sectors that act as a medium to fulfil them.
PM Modi also referred to the new National Education Policy (NEP), which he said, has laid the foundation for a curriculum that must stay aligned with market demands and the real-world economy, specifically in fields like AI, automation and the digital economy.
Under PM Modi’s rule India is moving towards an innovation-driven economy. The academic institutions are transforming their campuses into hubs of industry collaboration and research-driven learning to provide students with essential real-world exposure.
The emphasis on technology-based education reflects the changing nature of the global economy. As industries become increasingly driven by digital innovation, skills related to data science, automation, and advanced computing are becoming indispensable. By introducing courses and training programs in these areas, educational institutions are helping students become future-ready and competitive in both domestic and global markets.
However, the transformation of the education sector must go beyond curriculum changes. Academic institutions need to evolve into dynamic ecosystems where learning, research, and industry collaboration intersect. Universities and colleges must actively partner with industries to ensure that students gain real-world exposure through internships, research projects, and practical training. Such collaboration not only bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application but also helps industries access fresh ideas and talent.
Furthermore, fostering an innovation-driven environment on campuses is essential. Encouraging startups, supporting research initiatives, and promoting entrepreneurship among students can significantly contribute to economic growth. When students are empowered to innovate and create solutions, they become not just job seekers but job creators, strengthening the nation’s economic fabric.
India’s journey towards becoming a global economic powerhouse will depend largely on how effectively it invests in human capital. By linking education with the real-world economy, promoting technology-driven learning, and strengthening industry-academia collaboration, the country is laying the groundwork for a future-ready workforce.
