| Govt considering e-procurement | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, May 29- Stressing on adoption of e-procurement system in government offices for ensuring efficiency, transparency and accountability in works and services of the State, the Chief Secretary S S Kapur said that a committee would soon be constituted for seeking suggestions and recommendations in which experts would be also included for submitting a report for implementation of e-procurement in the State. He said government officials would also be trained so that e-procurement becomes a reality. Kapur said this while chairing e-tendering and procurement meeting here today. The Chief Secretary said the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is keen to introduce e-procurement in the State as this will remove administrative bottlenecks and increase efficiency in governance. A power-point slide show detailing the advantages of e-procurement was also given on the occasion. Several senior state officers also attended the meeting.
