| Protesters block Kishtwar-Chatroo NH | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Kishtwar May 29- Resident of Sangrabata Kishtwar and its adjoining areas today blocked the Kishtwar-Chatroo National Highway for more then three hours. They were protesting against the PHE department for non supply of drinking water to the inhabitants of Sangrabata, Giri Nager, Cherhar and other areas from last so many days. According to these protestors, despite repeated requested to the concerned AEE, JE and higher officials of PHE department Kishtwar, their problem could not be redressed, which ultimately pushed them to choose the agitation path. The protestors alleged that employees of PHE department allow public connection out of 4 inch Dia water gravity pipe line, which provide water to the inhabitants of Sangrabata. However, the protestor only allowed the movement of the traffic on this National Highway after the interference of SDPO Kishtwar Tanveer Ahmed. After lifting dharna , the inhabitants of the said village called on Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar who assured them action against the erring officials of PHE department. Later, DC Kishtwar directed the concerned AEE for immediate restoration of water supply to the effected inhabitants of Sangrabata and its adjoining village.
