| GDC Darhal organizes awareness program on Digital Scams and Online Frauds | | | Early Times Report DARHAL, Mar 14: Government Degree College Darhal organized an awareness programme on Digital Scams and Online Frauds in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority, Rajouri and Legal Services Committee Thanamandi. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Zamir Ahmed Mirza highlighted the increasing threats of cybercrime and stressed the importance of safe online practices. Experts from the legal services institutions explained common types of digital scams such as phishing, fake calls, OTP frauds, and fraudulent links. They also guided the students on preventive measures to safeguard their personal and financial information. During the session, the resource persons emphasized the importance of digital literacy, responsible use of social media, and prompt reporting of suspicious online activities. Students actively participated in the interactive session and raised queries related to cyber safety and the legal remedies available to victims of online fraud. The programme was organized and coordinated by the NSS wing of the college headed by Dr. Mohd Akhlaq and the IQAC of the college headed by Dr. Ghulam Abass and Dr. Taseem Ahmed. The collaboration with District Legal Services Authority Rajouri and the Legal Services Committee Thanamandi was made possible through the presence and active participation of Rabia Kouser from Legal Services Committee Thanamandi. The event concluded with a vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the District Legal Services Authority Rajouri and the Legal Services Committee Thanamandi for their valuable support and guidance in organizing the informative programme. Such initiatives play a significant role in empowering students with knowledge and awareness to stay safe in the digital world. A large number of students and staff members attended the programme. Among the prominent faculty members present were Dr. Shakeel Kateria, Mohd Shakoor, Dr. Beenish Mir, Dr. Neghat Parveen and Altaf Hussain. |
