| Professional colleges to have centralized admission system | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, MAY 29 (INFO)-J&K State Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional statutory Committee has been constituted to ensure fair, transparent and non-exploitative merit based selection to the medical engineering, technical and professional courses in professional institutions of both government and private of the state.
Selection to Government colleges and three private colleges of MIET, MBS and SSM is being done by J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examination (J&K BOPEE) through common entrance test. The selection of candidates for private Engineering Colleges even for management and reserve quota shall be from one source of CET, their institutions shall invite applications immediately after the declaration of the results of CET by the BOPEE. They’ll forward them to Chairman Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional Statutory Committee for onward transmission to the Board for issuing the select list for management/majority minority seats/quota strictly in accordance with interse merit of candidates in CET. After issuance of select list under management quota, counseling of selected candidates for allotment of disciplines shall be done by colleges by associating one member each of J&K BOPEE or Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional Statutory Committee and the department of Higher and Technical Education.
Other colleges like ASCOMS, Jammu, Institute of Dental College (Sehora), Jammu, Institute of Ayurveda, Jammu, Institute of Physiotherapy, Jammu, Institute of Asian Medical sciences, Srinagar and Tibbiya College, Sadakadal, Srinagar have formed an Association of Colleges for selection of candidates under management, minority and reserve quota in MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS and Physiotherapy courses. A separate Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission to these colleges under the supervision of Supervisory and Monitoring Constitutional Statutory Committee.
The Association of Colleges shall invite applications from eligible candidates for MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BUMS and physiotherapy courses under management and reserve quota on payment of a reasonable fee.
