| Farooq takes charge of Ministry | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT

Taking over the charge as Union Cabinet Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Dr Farooq Abdullah today said, ''This is our future, our natural resources will be reduced but this energy will see us through.'' Immediately after taking over, he told mediapersons that officers of the Ministery would travel and see the real situation at grassroots level and added, ''We have a hard job to do as lot of people do not know about this Ministry and its programmes.'' ''We have to educate people about various schemes and involve them to take advantage. Dr Abdullah said we have to work hard for to overcome energy crises. We might not live to see the results but our future generations would surely be benefited,'' he added. When asked about his Ministry, Dr Abdullah clarified,'' No work is small or big when it is done for the nation.'' He appealed to the people to change this mindset and promised to take priorities of the Ministry forward and to work in harmony. Later, he had meetings with all senior officers of the Ministry and reviewed the status of various programmes. Earlier, Secretary Deepak Gupta and Joint Secretary Ms Gauri Singh welcomed him.
