Early Times Report LUCKNOW, Mar 15: A few months ago, a 24-year-old woman arrived at a 'One Stop Center' in Auraiya in a distressed state. Domestic conflicts and continuously escalating disputes had pushed her family life to the verge of collapse. Counsellors present at the centre patiently and sensitively listened to her concerns. On the centre's initiative, her husband was also called and the counselling process for both of them began. After several rounds of discussion and guidance, communication between the couple reopened. As a result, their dispute was resolved and a family was saved from breaking apart. When contacted later, the woman shared that her married life has now returned to normal and the atmosphere at home has improved significantly. This incident highlights how One Stop Centres operated by government under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath have become trusted and reliable support systems for women facing crises. One Stop Centers, established to provide immediate assistance to women facing violence or harassment, have now become an effective support mechanism across Uttar Pradesh. At these centres, women receive medical assistance, psychological counselling, legal advice and police support at a single location. If required, women are also provided temporary shelter for up to five days, ensuring a safe environment during times of crisis. Trained counsellors carefully listen to the problems faced by women and guide them toward possible solutions. Network of One Stop Centres has rapidly expanded across the state, reflecting government's priority toward women's safety and empowerment. Currently, 96 One Stop Centres are operational across 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. |
