Central University Jammu Organizes Marathon On “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs”

Jammu, Mar 18: The Directorate of Physical Education, Central University of Jammu (CUJ), successfully organised a marathon on the theme “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs” as a curtain raiser event for the Annual Sports Meet Anant Khel 2026.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and research scholars representing various departments of the University.
The marathon was flagged off by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, along with Vice Captain of the J&K Ranji Trophy team, Mr. Shubham Khajuria. The occasion was graced by the presence of Director, Directorate of Physical Education, Prof. Vandana Sharma, Registrar, Prof. Yashwant Singh, and other faculty members and officials.
Addressing the participants, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Sanjeev Jain, appreciated the zeal and active involvement of the students in promoting a healthy and drug-free lifestyle.
He shared his vision of developing world-class sports infrastructure within the University campus and highlighted the ongoing efforts being made in this direction.
On the occasion, Prof. Sanjeev Jain also felicitated Mr. Shubham Khajuria for the remarkable achievement of the Jammu & Kashmir cricket team in the Ranji Trophy 2025–2026 season. Mr. Khajuria, a youth icon, interacted with the participants and athletes, motivating them and sharing valuable insights for achieving excellence in sports.
Prof. Vandana Sharma, Director, Directorate of Physical Education, expressed her sincere gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor for his continuous support and encouragement. She also extended thanks to the distinguished guest, Mr. Shubham Khajuria, and the entire team of the Directorate of Physical Education successfully conducted the event.
