| Burglars decamp with Rs 5lakhs from Udh GPO | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Udhampur May 29- Burglars struck at General Post Office (GPO) in Dhar road area of Udhampur and took away Rs. five lakhs from there and critically injuring guard on duty late last night
According to reports two to four thieves late last night at about 1:30 Am struck in post office and attacked guard on duty with chemical powder making him unconscious. Reports added that thieves later handcuffed him and entered in hall breaking doors and took away about Rs. five lakh cash from post office after breaking down main chest of office. All thieves later fled from the spot.
After getting information about the incident from the locals, the SHO along with police team reached the spot immediately and started search operation to nab the burglars involved in it.
Meanwhile, police also suspect involvement of local employees and is working on all the theories to solve the case. However, no arrest has been made so far and in the meantime the guard has been hospitalized.
