Early Times Report REASI, Mar 18: The Department of Zoology, Government General Zorawar Singh Memorial Degree College, Reasi, (J& K) organized One-day Educational tour to Jambu Zoo, Nagrota. This tour was meant for the undergraduate students of BSc. Semester IV of Wild Life Conservation and Management (major Course). A total 33 students along teaching and non-teaching Staff of Department of Zoology accompanied the tour. It is pertinent to mention here that this trip has been prescribed in the syllabus by the university to which our college is affiliated (University of Jammu, Jammu). The students and staff were fascinated to have the glimpse of some magnificent but endangered animals of our wild habitats like Leopard, Asiatic lion, Royal Bengal tiger, Hyaena, Himalayan Black bear, brown bear Nilgai, Emu, Indian Python, Peacock etc. The Jambu zoo authorities also arranged a special movie on status of wild life in Jammu and Kashmir for the students and staff. Refreshment was also provided to the students. The students and staff expressed their sincere thanks and gratitude to Principal, GDC, Reasi, Prof. Mamta Gupta and Wild Life Warden, Jambu Zoo, Mr Amrik Singh for successful conduct of this tour. |
