DBU engages in Post-Budget Webinar 2026 on Education and Skills Development

MANDI GOBINDGARH, Mar 18: The Department of Business Management and Commerce at Desh Bhagat University, in collaboration with the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) and IQAC, actively participated in the Post-Budget Webinar 2026 organized by the Ministry of Education. The webinar, themed "Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas - Fulfilling Aspirations of People," focused on Education, Skills & University Townships and was addressed by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The programme witnessed active participation from faculty members, administrators, and students. Attendees joined the live session to understand the key highlights of the Union Budget related to the education sector. The event commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Tavneet K. Reen.
Distinguished dignitaries including Dr. G. S. Batra, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Research and Development, Dr. Buta Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Research, Innovation and Consultancy, Dr. Gurvinder Pal Singh, Assistant Dean Academics, Dr. Naveen Thakur, Director Academics, Dr. Dinesh, Convinor, DBU, IIC and Dr. Baldeep Singh, Department Coordinator, IIC graced the occasion.
In his address, Dr. G. S. Batra lauded the government's emphasis on strengthening higher education through research, innovation, and skill-based learning. Dr. Buta Singh highlighted the potential of budgetary provisions to foster startup culture and innovation, encouraging students to become job creators. Concluding the session, Dr. Gurvinder Pal Singh appreciated the organizers and noted that such initiatives enhance students' awareness of national policies.
