JAMMU, Mar 20: The police of Poonch district, under Police Station Surnkot, have reunited a woman from Uttar Pradesh with her family after eleven years. According to details, the woman, identified as Leelawati, who is mentally unwell and belongs to the Dwaj area of Uttar Pradesh, had been separated from her family eleven years ago. The Surankot Police, through the tireless efforts of SHO Surnkot, Abid Bukhari, succeeded in reuniting her with her family. Police stated that the woman had gone missing eleven years ago and had been living in the Surnkot area of Poonch district. SHO Surnkot, Syed Abid Bukhari, said that when the police questioned her about her identity, they worked extensively with the limited information she was able to provide. By continuously analyzing the information and following various clues indicated by the woman, the police made persistent efforts and eventually succeeded in tracing her family and establishing contact with them. The SHO further said that police in Uttar Pradesh were also contacted and they cooperated in facilitating the reunion. As a result, the woman was successfully reunited with her family. He added that when the family members learned about her whereabouts, they arrived in Surnkot. After completing all legal formalities, the woman was handed over to her family. The public widely appreciated the efforts of Surnkot Police, especially SHO Syed Abid Bukhari, for successfully reuniting the woman with her family after eleven years. They said that this act is a remarkable achievement and reflects the capability, dedication, sensitivity, and commitment of the police towards public service. |
