Youth Power
3/20/2026 10:50:37 PM
As Jammu and Kashmir steadily navigates a path of peace, stability, and development, the role of its young population assumes unprecedented significance. Their aspirations, energy, and resilience can serve as the cornerstone of a transformative future.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha while addressing a function in Jammu recently highlighted the importance of channelizing the energy of youth in a positive manner. He stated that J&K holds the potential for a dynamic and flourishing future, growing into a vibrant centre of culture and advancing into a prosperous Union Territory through steady progress. LG Sinha drove home a point that it’s the youth who will take Jammu and Kashmir to new heights. They are the ones who will have to work towards achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat. The youth here are not just beneficiaries of development—they are its architects. Their participation in education, skill development, innovation, and civic life will define how effectively the region integrates with the broader national vision. J&K youth have to draw the strength from the wisdom passed down by our ancestors and work with determination to elevate Jammu Kashmir to a place among the country’s developed regions. It’s the youth who will inherit India’s legacy, reshape it and propel it towards a developed, sustainable tomorrow. Jammu and Kashmir is endowed with immense potential—be it in tourism, agriculture, handicrafts, entrepreneurship, or emerging sectors like information technology. However, unlocking this potential requires a focused and constructive engagement of youth. In a region where a large proportion of the population is young, the direction in which this demographic dividend is steered will determine the trajectory of progress. The emphasis on positivity is, therefore, not merely a rhetorical assertion but a strategic necessity. Future of Jammu and Kashmir lies in the hands of its youth. They have the responsibility not only to inherit India’s legacy but to redefine and elevate it. With determination, innovation, and a sense of purpose, they can transform the Union Territory into a vibrant centre of culture and a hub of economic prosperity. The call to channel youth energy positively is, therefore, a call to action—for the youth themselves, for policymakers, and for society at large.
