| Intensive course on “Juvenile Justice” commences at SKPA Udhampur | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Mar 23: An intensive course on "Juvenile Justice" commenced today at Sher-i-Kashmir Police Academy, Udhampur. The programme aims to sensitize the police officers with the legal provisions, procedures, and best practices related to handling cases involving children in conflict with law and children in need of care and protection. The course has been designed to enhance the professional competence of the participants in dealing with juvenile-related cases with child-friendly & reformatory approach in accordance with Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act. The inaugural session was presided over by SSP Benam Tosh Deputy Director SKPAU who said that mishandling of Juvenile delinquency cases leads to big cimes and so, there is a need for adopting a humane and reformative approach while dealing with juveniles. He highlighted that police officers play a crucial role in safeguarding the rights of children and ensuring their proper rehabilitation. During the course experts from legal, police and child welfare backgrounds will deliver lectures on various aspects including legal provisions, investigation procedures, child psychology, and coordination with Juvenile Justice Boards and Child Welfare Committees. |
