Member Legislative Assembly Kulgam and Secretary (CPIM) M. Y. Tarigami has said that by receiving education we can safeguard our rights and perform duties in a better way. Addressing parents day function at High School Bahibagh Kulgam, Tarigami said that the people of Kashmir have been bearing the brunt of militancy for last 15 years and time has come that every person strives for peace and development. He counseled the leaders of both India and Pakistan to issue sober statement and avoid any provocative remarks so that peace atmosphere is strengthened. He appealed Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to talk to the leaders of Pakistan to bring back the youth of valley staying there. Tarigami said that people of Kashmir yearn for peace as such, the militants should respond positively to the offer of ceasefire if made by the government. The MLA also inaugurated the Computer lab at the Government High School Tarigam. Addressing the gathering, Tarigami said that we should equip our children with the latest technology to face challenges of the fast changing world. |
