| Awareness on `World No Tabacco Day’ by Sprawling Buds | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 30: To generate awareness among general public about the harmful effects of smoking on `World No Tobacco Day’, Sprawling Buds School, Chinore in Bantalab today held an awareness programme at Janipur.
Students and teachers of the school made public aware of the injurious effects of intake of tobacco. Bearing specially designed caps conveying message on the day, young students and their teachers distributed pamphlets among the commuters. Students were seen warning those smoking by conveying them the harmful effects of deadly menace of smoking and intake of other drugs.
Teachers accompanying the students put in extra efforts to inform the public about how smoking and other drugs destroy the lives of younger generation world over. They also laid stress on complete ban on exposure and publicity, especially at public places, to any king of tobacco product.
Earlier, the first citizen of the city, Mayor, Kavinder Gupta launched the campaign by distributing pamphlets among the public. The special invitee appreciated the initiative by the school.
Later, Principal of the school, Puja Sharma laid stress on ensuring a smoke-free environment to protect the world from the lethal ill-effects of tobacco smoke.
Prominent among others present were Corporator, Ravinder Gupta, Ram Khajuria (secretary Tawi Trekkers), Rahul Sharma, Ramesh Khajuria, Arti Sharma and Savita Khajuria (all directors of the school)
