| Udhampur police foils bovine smuggling attempt | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Mar 27: Udhampur Police foiled a bovine smuggling attempt at Kougha during routine naka checking. A police team of Police Station Ramnagar led by its SHO, at Naka Point Kougha was conducting routine checking when a Tata Safari bearing registration No. JK02AH-1400, coming from Ramnagar towards Kashmir side, was signalled to stop for checking purposes. However, the driver accelerated the vehicle and fled from the spot. The naka party immediately chased the vehicle and succeeded in intercepting it at the Trilla area. The driver managed to escape from the spot leaving the vehicle behind. Upon checking, the vehicle was found loaded with 04 bovines tied in a cruel manner. All the bovines were rescued. In this regard, FIR No. 41/2026 U/S 223(a) BNS and 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar and further investigation is underway. |
