| Jandiyal Biradari elections to be held in May 2026 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 28: All Jandiyal Sabha elections will be held in the last week of May 2026 after completion of the process of Identity Card cum Voter card by 30th April. The Chief Patron of All Jandiyal Sabha, Justice (Retd) K K Gupta today announced a 3-Member Election Commission for smooth conduct of election of President and General Secretary of the Sabha. Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, former MLC and Provincial President of NC, will head this Panel. The other two members of the Panel are Advocate Ravi Kumar and Dy SP Devender Gupta. After resignation of the previous management, an Ad hoc Managing Committee was constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Patron Justice (Retd) K K Gupta which is running the affairs of the Sabha. The Committee has, among others, three former Presidents of the Sabha, former IAS officer K B Jandial and former IGP Ashok Kumar Gupta as members. Elections could not be held for want of a proper voter list which is currently under preparation. The last date for submission of the prescribed form for Identity cum Voter Card is 30th April 2026, and after preparation of Voter list, it will be notified by the Election Commission which will fix the date for election in the month of May. Under the Constitution of the Jandiyal Biradari, any member who had remained President or General Secretary of the Sabha for five years or more, is ineligible to fight re-election for the same post. These cards will be provided free of cost, and the Sabha will bear the cost. The charges on this count, already paid, will be refunded. |
